I was lucky enough to have a number of images featured in the most recent issue of Lynchburg Living! This article highlights Heather and Todd’s wedding at King Family Vineyards, a delightful location outside of Charlottesville. Click on the image to view the full size PDF.
Playing some catch up this week with print cred!
Love it when my brides are feautured – and how great to be selected as a bride of style! Congratulations Jessica!
Woohoo! Got a new victim, I mean subject for Monday! Thanks for all the calls/pms!

One of the questions I’m commonly asked is what happens if you get sick and can’t shoot the wedding? Luckily, I’m a member of several professional photography organizations and network with all of my local photographer buddies. While I have not missed a wedding in 20 years of business, I have been able to provide photography services for other photographers over the years.
Kind of like this past weekend – one of my colleague was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. Since my weekend schedule called for arduous garden work 😉 , I was able to step in and help out.
Thank you to Allison and Steve for being willing and able to work with a last minute substitution!
It’s always hard to walk into a wedding “cold” but thanks to a great bridesmaid/wedding director like Carla, it was a cakewalk!
paint by numbers anyone?
I love “friends” services and this one was no exception.
Getting pelted with birdseed!
Congratulations you two! Have a fabulous time in Savannah!
I love getting together with the fabulous wedding pros of Charlottesville! This spring’s event was orchestrated by the ever talented Claire Goodman of Sacred Ground Ceremonies and hosted by the wonderful folks at King Family Vineyard.
Jennifer Carroll provide the beautifully designed paperwork (and don’t forget to check out her new bridal guide, The Wedding Planner!)
One of the neat things was when they passed the hat for our last gathering, we had enough left over to host this one!
The spring theme table linens were provided by Festive Fare.
The amazing food was created by Harvest Moon, one of my favorite local caterers.
DJ Derek Tobler provided the sound system and music. Here he is with photographers Don and Lindsay Mears from Richmond. Oh and BTW, congratulations to you both! (Lindsay is due with a little girl in June not that you would notice unless she turns side wise!)
Claire and Derek
Claire was excited about cakes!
Specifically, Anita Gupta from Maliha Creations
who provided some AMAZING cupcakes! I get excited about really good cake too!
Thanks again to Kerry Hannon with King Family for hosting all the usual suspects!
Just in straight from across the oceans! The cover of this album is a combo of cream synubuck and metallic picture, the interior a mix of classic matted images with full page pictures – this is NOT your mom’s wedding album!
I love that we can use the ACTUAL invitation inside the album… see it nestled behind the vellum cover sheet?
perhaps you can see it better here? 🙂
Hi happy blog readers! Just a note – I limit the number of weddings I photograph each year to ensure my clients receive the best service and all my creative energies; this means I don’t book something every single weekend. I have about eight nine ten dates remaining so if you are thinking about booking me for your wedding in 2010, please contact the studio as soon as you have your date!
2011 brides, you’ll want to contact me soon if your wedding is in the spring time!
This was a change for me! I don’t make a habit of commercial work but every once in a while something comes up that I just cant resist I’ve been commissioned to photograph a number of stunning antique porcelain mugs and tankards for a book on Chinese Export. I can’t show off too many pending publication but here are two of my favorites – the art direction was fairly strict as they had to “match” the other items being photographed around the world for the book.
this one was interesting – how do you show the amazing luminosity of an 18th century mug with varied thicknesses?
How delightful to be a guest at the Bridal Ring Launch party the other night! The folks at Glenmore were great hosts and special thanks to Kluge vineyards for providing the refreshments!
