One of my favorite places, the Clifton Inn, my favorite time of year (I got married in October) and a stellar couple! What could be better? 🙂 Claire Goodman always provides delightful, insightful ceremonies and the flowers/decor were provided by one amazing florist, Pat’s Floral Design of Madison .
Just a quick update to let you know that I’m still alive and busily working on all outstanding orders! Reprints that are ordered by today, December 14th, will be shipped out before Christmas (depending on your location, you may need to upgrade to overnight shipping – call us to ask 434-384-0138) I’ll be posting some major updates to the blog once the Christmas rush is over – in the meantime, please enjoy this quick snap of a lovely gentleman who was helping out with the carriage rides downtown…
I’m running around a bit like a chicken with my head cut off. Well, more accurately, I’m working rather intently on everyones weddings and portraits to have your product ready in time for the holidays. That means that yes, I’m posting this at about 3 AM (fa la la la la) and that I may not be quite as quick to reply to emails and voice mails (la la la la) I actually do love the holidays but it does mean that I haven’t been keeping up with the blogging in order to focus my priorities where they belong – on you my clients. Never fear, the blogging will be back soon and I will be posting some catch ups! Until then…
There is a delightful florist out of Richmond who wrote the nicest things about me in her blog! Go take a look! And, while you’re at it, take a look at some of her fabulous work on her website!   I first met Janie when I worked with her on Kara and Jeff’s wedding in Richmond at the Gardens at Sunday Park. I remember thinking to myself that she had done an amazing job with a blue and white color scheme (not the easiest thing to pull off botanically speaking) You can see more of the florals and decor from their event on her website, under weddings II, pages 1 and 2. Enjoy!
In this busy world we all live in, I know quite well that it can be a challenge to stop and be thankful for our blessings. Please indulge me while I share some of mine today.
My husband and daughter
my parents
my sister and her family
my husband’s family
and all our other family and friends, clients and colleagues that are so important to our world. I am humbly, gratefully thankful that you are a part of our lives. Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
You know we all have days that are tougher than others – today was kind of a grey day for me. BUT, then I received this email from a recent bride:
…Just wanted to let you know – I absolutely love the photos! They are fantastic, we are SO happy with them. How in the world do you get that softness and vibrant color, is there a trick to it?!? The b&w shots and the few that have a little movement in them are my favorites…
And you know what? My day is no longer grey! Thank you, Cerise for bringing the sun! If you want to take a look at some of the images from her fabulous wedding, just go here!
I’m not much of a TV watcher but I have to admit I AM mildly wedding/photography obsessed. Thats why I get such a kick out of this new show called “say yes to the dress” on TLC. It follows the adventures of various brides at Kleinfelds from the staff perspective. I’m also watching (when I can) the shot on VH1. It’s about a bunch of “reality” photographers who want to become fashion photographers. And yes, there is a wedding photographer in the group!
What shows are you watching these days?
Some of you loyal readers may remember my trip to NYC a couple of months ago for the Photo Pro Expo and for the recording of this podcast. It features a group of my favorite women photographers and a sort of peek into the inner workings of our minds (don’t be scared, but do mind the children as there are one or two off words)! We had a blast recording it and I hope you enjoy the our little coffee klatch!
I’m a bit snowed under right now but I’m so proud of the work my DH did for my booth that I wanted to share! Camera phone quality but I think you get the idea!
And do you see those WAY COOL stands? My BIL hand made those for me! (Well, I shouldn’t say hand made, his huge very fancy steel cutting machine cut them and he welded all the pieces together!)
